ESTABLISHED in 2016 by New Zealand football legend Ricki Herbert, RH Sports Tours was created to not only provide a travelling team the platform to work from when home or abroad but to also enhance the experience for the travelling supporter, enthusiast and fan. Tailoring sporting tour itineraries for travelling sports teams, supporters and fans can be a complex undertaking.
With our in-depth knowledge, local and international relationships RH Sports Tours aim to deliver a stress-free and memorable travel experience for all. RH Sports Tours cater to sports teams, supporters and fans wanting to travel overseas as well as those sporting groups wishing to travel to New Zealand and experience what we here in Aotearoa have to offer.
RH Sports Tours works alongside the Ricki Herbert Football Academy to provide tour packages for family and friends wanting to support their player while playing overseas on academy tours. Alongside our football tours, we also offer access to other global sports events.
Ricki Herbert, cnzm
RICKI HERBERT, CNZM, the managing director of RH Sports Tours, has achieved considerable success as a professional football player, coach and founder of his own player academy in New Zealand. He has the rare distinction of having represented New Zealand at FIFA World Cup Finals as a player (1982) and as a national coach (2010). He received the prestigious Halberg Award for 2010 Coach of the Year for leading the All Whites unbeaten at the World Cup Finals in South Africa.
Hebert, who is based in Cambridge, New Zealand, has coached professional clubs including the New Zealand Knights (2006-07), the Wellington Phoenix (2007-13) and North East United in the Indian Premier League (2014-15).
He was a member of FIFA’s technical coaching team at the 2014 World Cup Finals in Brazil, and in 2015 he coached the Papua New Guinea U-23 team to a bronze medal at the South Pacific Games. He was the head coach of the Maldives national side in 2015-16.
He is the founder of the Ricki Herbert Football Academy which runs coaching programmes for young players throughout the North Island of New Zealand.
